FLORIDA STATE ASSOCIATION OF SUPERVISORS OF ELECTIONS PO Box 350 Tallahassee, Fl 32302 Telephone: (850) 599-9120 Facsimile: (850) 561-6834 Mr. John Keegan QI/Clinical Team GOC 2 2585 Merchants Row Blvd Room 210 G Tallahassee, FL 32399-1719 July 9, 2008 Dear Mr. Keegan, The purpose of this letter is to provide my endorsement of the “Vote and Vaccinate” effort in conjunction with the upcoming General Election. The Executive Board of the Florida State Association of Supervisors of Elections (FSASE) has expressed support of this program and I am happy to encourage Elections Supervisors statewide to embrace this concept. The Centers for Disease Control and Prevention recommends that every person 50 or older receive an annual flu shot. Obviously, a large percentage of our state’s voters fall within this category, and Election Day provides a unique opportunity to offer immunization for those who are most vulnerable. By having mobile clinics placed by County Public Health officials out the 100-foot solicitation area, we can make a valuable contribution toward the health and well being of our citizens. In addition, no sign will be placed at the polling place and all vaccinations will be given after the participant votes. In summary, on behalft of FSASE I heartily offer my support of the “Vote and Vaccinate” effort and will encourage Supervisors to cooperate when approached by their local County Public Health representative. Sincerely, Jennifer J. Edwards President
